More Fragments

Here’s a brief sampling since my last fragment post:

Me: What is one more than “n”? I’m half expecting to hear “o”
Student reply: “M?”

Student: “What do you do for a living?” huh?

Student: “Why is it raining?”
Me: “The water cycle?” I have to learn to control my smart-ass comments better.

Me (after demonstrating how to determine algebraically if a function is even, odd or neither): “What questions do you have?”
Student: “Why did you choose to wear a green tie-dye shirt?”

Student: “I don’t read what’s on the board, I just copy it down – one word at a time. That way I don’t have to think about it.” thump, thump (sound of head hitting board)

This is when I knew I was in trouble… I was talking to Andy about needing another student aide. I said I needed one who was dependable, yet one to whom I could assign mundane tasks without feeling guilty. His response, “I heard you could borrow Giuseppe.”
